Home Watch Services for Old Edwards Club Members
Old Edwards Club sits in the heart of downtown Highlands — one of the most coveted addresses in the southern Appalachians. As a private residential club woven into the fabric of the Old Edwards Inn & Spa, its members enjoy a level of amenity and service that sets a high standard for everything they expect from their Highlands experience, including how their homes are cared for when they're away.
Most Old Edwards Club residences are second homes, used during the summer and fall seasons and left unoccupied for significant stretches in the off-season. That's the window when mountain homes are most vulnerable: a slow plumbing leak, an HVAC failure on a cold night, a window that didn't latch before a winter storm. These problems don't announce themselves. They accumulate quietly until a homeowner returns to real damage.
Because Old Edwards Club properties are often in or immediately adjacent to the most active part of Highlands, they benefit from being in a walkable, well-trafficked area, but that proximity doesn't replace the need for someone who knows your specific home, knows what's normal, and will notice when something isn't. That's what we do.
What We Do at Every Visit
Kyle or Kylee visits your Old Edwards Club home on a schedule that makes sense for your property, with every two weeks being most common for seasonal residents. Every visit is a complete interior and exterior walkthrough: water systems, HVAC, roof, windows, doors, appliances, crawl space, garage, and any specific areas of concern you've flagged. We document everything with photos and send you a detailed report after every visit. If something needs attention, you hear from us directly before you've had a chance to wonder.
Storm & Weather Response
Highlands, NC sits at 4,118 feet, the highest town east of the Rockies, and mountain weather here moves fast. Ice storms, high winds, and hard freezes arrive without much warning and leave damage behind. As part of your annual service agreement, we conduct additional storm walkthroughs after significant weather events and report back as soon as possible. No extra charge, no waiting for your next scheduled visit.
Discretion Is Part of the Service
Old Edwards Club members are accustomed to a certain standard of privacy and discretion. We operate accordingly. We don't discuss who we serve, we don't share what we observe inside a home, and we conduct ourselves in a way that gives no outward indication of an owner's absence. Your home looks lived-in, cared-for, and secure — because it is.
A Limited Roster by Design
We deliberately cap how many homes we take on. That's not a marketing point — it's the only way to deliver the kind of attention each property deserves. When your home is on our roster, you're never one of hundreds. We know your property, we know its quirks, and when something changes, we notice.
Getting Started
We keep our client list intentionally small so every property gets our full attention. Pricing and service details are worked out in person. That's how we make sure the arrangement is right for both sides.
